Kuranda Koala Gardens is one of the newest attractions in the area, offering a unique look into one of Australia's iconic marsupials, the adorable koala. Learn about the koalas, their habitat, eating habits, and more as you wander through the different zones of the park! You'll get plenty of chances, as you'll see these cute animals eating, sleeping, and exploring their living zones. There's more than just koalas in this wildlife sanctuary: there's also freshwater crocodiles, which are highly common in this region in Australia. Kangaroos and wallabies, fellow marsupials, are also found in the park. Don't forget the snakes, of which there are many, also native to Australia with species both deadly and harmless. The wombats are a favorite among native Australians, as they are smart, playful, and look quite cute while snoozing away. There are so many animals to meet and learn about in this wonderful park, making it the perfect excursion for the whole family to enjoy.
By car: Only 40 minutes north west of Cairns. You can get to Kuranda via the Captain Cook Highway and Kennedy Highways
