The Middle Interpretation Station (the midpoint of the former Taipingshan Cableway) The "Middle" is surrounded by mountains, with tall and dense Cryptomeria forests, green mountains and extremely broad views. It is called the Middle because it is located between the former Jiuzhize and Lantai. A visitor center is set up here to provide relevant information about the amusement area. There is an indoor exhibition hall that exhibits the four-season landscape, natural ecology and park attractions of Taipingshan. There is also a multimedia room. By watching the multimedia introduction, you can have a deeper understanding of the humanities, history and four-season customs of Taipingshan. The outdoor space displays a steam logger, which was used to pull steel cables to haul wood in the past and was an indispensable and important tool in the forest farm.

Bailing Giant Tree (passing by) Bailing is located between the middle and Taipingshan Villa. It is named because it is often covered with clouds and fog in the afternoon, and the top of the mountain is covered with white. This place is also a base for viewing the Bailing Giant Tree. The Bailing Giant Tree is a red cypress grandfather that is more than 2,500 years old. The tree is 30 meters high, about ten stories high, with a breast diameter of 3.4 meters and a chest circumference of 9.4 meters. It takes about 6 people to hug it. Although it was struck by lightning and the tree body is hollow, the surrounding secondary xylem is still solid and intact. Since the water needed for the growth of the tree is transported upward from the roots by the xylem, and the nutrients produced by photosynthesis are transported downward by the phloem in the inner layer of the bark, the giant tree can still maintain its vitality and continue to grow by relying on the secondary xylem. At the same time, Bailing is also the watershed between coniferous and broad-leaved trees in Taipingshan.

After arriving, you can store your luggage at the counter and take a short break to prepare lunch. If you have a tour bus on the day, walk about 450 meters from the tour bus parking lot to the Taiping Villa counter. As most of the transportation in the villa depends on the "central staircase", it is strongly recommended to carry backpacks instead of dragging suitcases.

Taiping Villa was the administrative center of the Taipingshan Forest Farm in the past. It is now the most important accommodation and recreation base and administrative center in the forest recreation area. After lunch, you can enjoy the quiet time in the mountains that only guests of Taiping Villa can experience in the afternoon and evening.

Check in and have some free time to rest. (Taipingshan Villa is a stairway villa with no luggage delivery service. It is recommended to bring your luggage with you in a backpack.)

Starting from the Tuchang toll station, you will first see subtropical rainforest plants such as Liquidambar formosana, camphor tree, and wild tung tree. Going forward to Bailing, you will see mixed coniferous and broad-leaved forests such as black heart stone, Fuzhou fir, Taiwan red maple, and red cypress. Going forward to Taipingshan and Cuifeng Lake, you will see precious original cypress forests, hemlock forests, cypress, cryptomeria and other coniferous forests. The scenery is as its name suggests. When the sky clears up after a long period of rain, you can see the Lanyang Plain and the majestic Shengling Line in the distance. There is often a magnificent and poetic sea of ​​clouds in the afternoon. Sometimes, after being trapped in the white fog for a long time, you will feel a desire to see the sun clear up. This is the origin of the place name "Jianqing".

Hatonosawa

The old name is Shaoshui, which means geothermal hot spring. During the Japanese colonial era, Japanese loggers built hot spring bathhouses here, and hot spring bathing became a rare pleasure in the loggers' life; the Japanese called it "Jiuze Hot Spring", and in 1969 it was renamed "Renze Hot Spring", and in 2006 it was restored to its original name "Jiuzhize". The source of the spring comes from the geothermal heat at a depth of 2,200 meters. The spring temperature is about 140 degrees Celsius, and the bathing area is adjusted to a suitable temperature of 38-42 degrees Celsius. The spring is clear, colorless and odorless, and feels smooth after washing. It is a weakly alkaline sodium bicarbonate mixed spring that can relax muscles and bones, beautify the skin, and is known as the "Beauty Soup". In order to provide tourists with different bathing experiences, the open bathing facilities include an open-air SPA pool, a male and female nude bath area, and a family wild bath area. Among them, the open-air SPA pool is a creative stone bath made by drilling holes in the huge stream stones brought by the typhoon. The male and female nude bathing areas and the family wild bathing area allow visitors to enjoy the phytoncides and warm spring water in the broad-leaved forest in the green valley.
