Vatican Museums
The tour starts with a walk from the agency to the Museums' entrance with the guide, who will lead you through the narrow streets around St Peter's, along the Leonine Walls, to one of the most prestigious museum complexes in the world, inside Vatican City. Your guide will give you an overview of the origins of the Museums, founded in 1506 and enriched over the centuries with priceless collections. Among the Roman exhibits, you’ll visit the famous Laocoon sculpture, which shows the Trojan priest and his sons attacked by sea serpents. Your guide will explain its symbolism and its influence on ancient and Renaissance art. We continue with the Gallery of Maps, a long corridor decorated with frescoes illustrating Italy's geography, a jewel of Renaissance cartography. The tour ends in the Sistine Chapel, world-famous for Michelangelo's frescoes, including the iconic *Creation of Adam*. Your guide will explain their history, meaning, painting techniques and cultural importance.

- Meeting point at the agency, just behind the walls of the ‘Passetto di Borgo’, a few metres from St Peter's Square (looking at the basilica on the right). Please check your booking for the start time of the Vatican tour in English. Arrive 20 minutes early at the meeting point
End Points
- At the end of the tour, the guide will leave the guests either at the museum exit or at the access point to St. Peter’s Basilica via the staircase from the Sistine Chapel. Please note that access to the Basilica is allowed until 6:00 PM
