Wanhe Temple (also known as Litoudian Shengmu Temple), built in 1684, is the oldest temple in Taichung City. It got its name from "Litoudian Street" (present-day Nantun District), where stores producing agricultural tools like plows used to be gathered. The temple is dedicated to the Meizhou Heavenly Holy Mother (commonly known as Mazu or Laodama) and is one of the four major Mazu temples in Taichung City.
Second Market, established in November 1917, is located at Xinfu Town, 3rd Street, Taichung City (now bounded by Zhongzheng Road, Taiwan Boulevard, Zhongshan Road, and Xingzhong Street in Central District). Hence, it is called Xinfu Town Market. Its main building, in a three-wing radial design, is the same style as the First Market and cost 39,000 yen at that time. Besides the main building, there were also simple shops on the outside, as well as fish and vegetable wholesale markets. Since it was the second consumer market built by Taichung City, it is also known as the Second Market.
The National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts (NTMoFA) is the only national art museum in the Republic of China (Taiwan). With a total floor area of 49,604 square meters, it stands as the largest public art museum in the country.
