The Old Fort (Ngome Kongwe)
Old fort was the first building in stone town area was built by the Portugal around 16 century, in this area you will learn about Portuguese empire and Arabian empire.
House of wonder
House of wonder was built around 18 century by the sultan of zanzibar as a ceremon building, but later was destroyed by British and you will know more about this place.
Old Slave Market/Anglican Cathedral
The Anglican Church of Christ in Stone Town was built in 1877 on the site of the old slave market, one of the last open slave markets in the world. The church was constructed by British missionaries after slavery was abolished in Zanzibar. Today, the site serves as a memorial to the victims of the slave trade, featuring preserved underground slave chambers and a powerful stone monument of chained slaves. It stands as a symbol of hope, remembrance, and Zanzibar’s historical journey toward freedom.
