Drive alongside the turquoise Kawarau River, known for its historic gold-mining sites and the Kawarau Bungy Bridge—the world’s first commercial bungy jump site. Dramatic rocky cliffs and river views provide a striking early highlight.

Cromwell
Pass-by Only

A charming fruit-growing town at the confluence of the Clutha and Kawarau Rivers. Famous for its giant fruit sculpture, farmers markets, and Lake Dunstan views. A good place for a restroom if required.

Lindis Pass
Pass-by Only

A breathtaking alpine pass rising to 971 m, covered in golden tussocks that sway in the wind, creating a truly New Zealand landscape feel. Ideal for a quick photo stop capturing rolling hills under vast skies.
