Oshino Hakkai
Oshino Hakkai (忍野八海) is a group of eight clear spring ponds located in the village of Oshino, between Lake Kawaguchiko and Lake Yamanakako in the Fuji Five Lakes area. These ponds were formed on the site of a former lake that dried up centuries ago. They are fed by melted snow from Mount Fuji, which takes over 80 years to filter through volcanic lava layers. The result is pure, clear spring water, highly valued by local residents.
Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine
Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine, also known as Chureito Pagoda (忠霊塔, Chūreitō), is a five-story pagoda located on a mountainside overlooking Fujiyoshida City with Mount Fuji in the background. It is part of the larger Arakura Sengen Shrine and was built in 1963 as a peace memorial. The pagoda stands about 400 steps above the main shrine buildings, offering a famous panoramic view.
Lake Kawaguchiko
Lake Kawaguchiko is the most visited of the Fuji Five Lakes and often serves as the main gateway to the area. It is the second largest lake by surface area and second shallowest, with a depth of about 14.6 meters. Located at an elevation of around 830 meters, the lake has cool summers and cold winters. It is especially popular in spring for cherry blossoms and in autumn for colorful fall foliage.
