Hike one of Guatemala’s 3 active volcanoes! Pacaya is an active complex volcano that rises to an elevation of 2,552 meters. This is a 2-hour hike so suitable footwear is required. Enjoy incredible views of the surrounding areas at the top and volcano-toasted marshmallows on return! You will be accompanied by professional guides that have all the necessary information, a positive attitude at all times and all the support you need.
This hike starts at 6:00 AM and you return to Antigua around 1:00 PM or start at 1:00 PM and return around 8:00 PM. Your guide will be in charge of the payment of the entrance, of the translation of the information that Pacaya's local guide will provide and will be accompanying you at your own pace. This is not an overnight hike

PACAYA VOLCANO HIKE *This is not an overnight hike* In our group tour the local guides are generally Spanish speakers, some speak basic English. The group size is between 4 to 20 people, who have different nationalities and individual physical conditions. The guide will try to keep the group together. Please adjust to the group pace and stay in the group to not get lost. The guide will give his recommendations at his moment. You will be accompanied by professional guides that have all the necessary information, a positive attitude at all times and all the support you need. Follow a local guide from the park to climb Pacaya, enjoy and earn about the history and nature of Pacaya volcano. Toast and eat marshmallows on naturally hot molten earth. Regroup in the visitor's center before heading back to Antigua. There are 2 strategical resting points, but you can rest more if you wish. From experience, it is better to do short breaks, only to regain energy and then continue.
