Fly in a skiplane and a helicopter on the same day for an unforgettable experience of Aoraki/Mount Cook. Enjoy a scenic adventure that includes a glacier snow landing.
From take-off to landing, you will enjoy spectacular views! Fly up the Tasman Valley over the breathtaking blue glacier lake. See the Hochstetter Icefall and the cloud-piercing Aoraki/Mount Cook before landing on the upper snowfields of the Tasman Glacier. Take time to enjoy this unique alpine environment before swapping aircraft and returning to Mount Cook Airport.
These mountains are covered in snow and ice all year round, and the aircraft fully shuts down on landing. You’ll also see Tasman Terminal Lake, Grand Plateau, Plateau Hut, as well as the full length of the Tasman Glacier.
Ski planes and helicopters have the same flight path and landing sites on the Tasman Glacier. The ski plane will shut down the engine on every landing so you can fully appreciate the natural quiet of the alpine environment. As one of only a few places in the world that offer this kind of product, a ski plane flight is a truly unique and memorable experience.

- Please arrive at the designated location 45 minute(s) before the scheduled departure time, as the tour will depart on time
- Please be sure to arrive within the check-in time. Those who are late will not be able to participate and will not receive a refund
- Please call the tour operator at +64 3 281 4502 for the latest flight updates, on the day of your flight
- Bags, handbags or loose gear such as hats, scarves and any carried items are not allowed to be taken with you on the flight. Please leave these items in your vehicle or with the front desk before boarding the aircraft
- For safety reasons, drones, iPads and selfie sticks are not allowed on board
- Participants unable to complete trips due to pre-existing medical conditions or personal factors will be evacuated at their own expense without any refund
- All flights require a minimum number of passengers for departure. The tour operator reserves the right to cancel due to insufficient passengers
- The flight is subject to favorable weather conditions. If the flight is cancelled due to poor weather, an alternative date or a full refund will be given for your option
- Booking is subject to confirmation on the day based on Aircraft weight & balance requirements
