On the banks of the Guadalquivir River, you will find one of the most precious and ancient monuments of the capital of Seville. The Monastery of Santa María de las Cuevas, better known as the Monastery of La Cartuja, hides an incredible history. In its more than 600 years, it has hosted, for example, events of the Expo'92 and has been home to Christopher Columbus. In the 11th century this building was used as a pottery kiln factory taking advantage of the clay of the area and today this Sevillian monastery houses the headquarters of the Andalusian Centre of Contemporary Art. In this visit we will be able to verify the evolution of the use of this building through the times and the numerous anecdotes that have appeared around the same one.
