Established in 1794, the Menagerie is among the oldest zoos worldwide, nestled in the heart of Paris at the Jardin des Plantes. Step into a lively world where a fascinating variety of species await, including red pandas, orangutans, Przewalski horses, clouded leopards, primates, birds, reptiles, and amphibians. Many of these animals are born right here and contribute to conservation through carefully managed breeding programs for endangered species. Discover the beautifully preserved 19th-century structures, like the iconic Bear Pit, the Rotonde, the Reptile House, and the Great Aviary, each adding to the charm of this historic site. “Meet the Keepers” events offer an engaging way to learn about biodiversity and the threats facing many species today. With a perfect mix of heritage and animal wonders, it’s an ideal spot for an enriching, family-friendly experience
