Niska Banja
Niška Banja is a Spa town with several spa-hotels 10km away from the city center. It is famous for many wells of hot thermal water and nice parks for walking.
Sicevo Gorge is the most popular natural spot near the city of Niš.
The Second World War in Yugoslavia began on April 6, 1941 and did not spare Niš, an important strategic and industrial center at that time. The headquarters of the German Gestapo moved into the city the same year, and that's when the ethnic systematic torture and killing of the people began. The concentration Camp “Crveni krst” and “Bubanj” Memorial Park are sad reminders of that dark age of human history in this city.
