Kinkakuji Temple

Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this temple, completely covered in gold leaf, is a must-see destination for visitors. The golden pavilion stands on a pond surrounded by greenery. The golden leaves offer a beautiful contrast of colors in every season, from the snow covering the surfaces to the vermilion red of the momiji leaves.

The Ryoanji temple is one of the oldest and most famous monuments in Kyoto, as well as one of the most important places where the Zen movement has been handed down. The interior also has some pieces of art shown, including frescoes, oil paintings, and wooden sculptures.
