From our meeting point at Norrsken House Kigali, we’ll start our walk toward the Belgian Peacekeepers Memorial. Along the way, you’ll get a feel for Kigali’s clean, well-planned streets and modern architecture. We’ll pass by lively commercial areas, small local shops, and everyday city life unfolding around us. At the Belgian Peacekeepers Memorial, we’ll pause to reflect on the history of the 10 Belgian soldiers who were killed at the start of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. The site features a small museum and the preserved bullet-marked building where they made their last stand, offering a powerful glimpse into Rwanda’s past and its journey toward peace.

We’ll walk through its vibrant car-free zone, where locals gather at outdoor tea shops, the aroma of grilled brochettes fills the air, and the streets buzz with life. We’ll also stop by the Nyamirambo Women’s Center, where you can learn about the community’s inspiring initiatives and browse locally made crafts.
