As we cross the Isthmus, we stop to see the great feat of engineering that finally opened the route between the Gulf of Corinth and the Saronic Gulf - the Corinth Canal. It was finished in 1893, even though the idea existed at least as far back as 602 BC!
Experience one of Greece’s most scenic train rides aboard the Odontotos Rack Railway, a historic and picturesque journey through the stunning landscapes of the Vouraikos Gorge. This legendary railway, built in 1896, connects the coastal town of Diakopto to the beautiful mountain village of Kalavrita, offering a truly unforgettable experience.
The Kalavrita Holocaust Museum honors the memory of the 1943 massacre, where Nazi forces executed nearly all male residents. Housed in the old school, it displays photographs, artifacts, and personal stories, preserving the tragic history and resilience of Kalavryta.
