While the main exhibition of the Jewish Museum (Museo Ebraico) is temporarily closed for renovation, the museum offers a chance to tour 2 of its synagogues in the historic Jewish Ghetto. This is your chance to experience the living history of the oldest ghetto in the world as you admire the gracious interiors of the Levantine and Spanish Synagogues. Both were built in the 16th century and rebuilt in the 17th century by great architects and artists who knew how to make use of the limited space in the overcrowded Ghetto. They are the soul of Jewish Venice, hidden on top floors of the Venetian “skyscrapers”.
