Guided tour of the ancient town of Bar
Discover Bar with a French-speaking guide whose mother tongue is French and who knows his country very well. Le Vieux Bar is 4 km from the center. The city was built over several centuries, and was historically one of the most important in Montenegro. We will cross the most typical Kaldrma street where the shops and cafes are located and thus discover the traditional Montenegrin way of life. Old Fortress, Stari Bar
The Old Bar, which is 4 kilometers away from the center of the New Bar, is situated on a very steep cliff in the base of the mountain Rumija. The town has been successively built for several centuries. We will meet near the Old town of Bar at the parking lot. Through a typical street Kaldrma where are all the shops and cafés and discover Montenegrin traditional way of living. The old city gate from the 11th century. Beside, there is a Citadela, of defensive character. A great number of monuments authentically testified of past time. Then discover the old streets and city walls. And see: -The aqueduct is located on the north side of Old Bar. It was built in the time of the Ottomans (17th century) and served to bring water to the town from a spring which was about 3 kilometers away. -the old church of St Nikola, St Jovan, St Veneranda... -the Venetian palace from the 15th century, -the ancient turkish baths, -And get a panoramic view on the port and the new city of Bar.
