In the heart of Genoa's historic district, nestled among the charming narrow streets, lies Pasticceria Fortuna, a beloved local bakery renowned for its delectable sweets. As you step into the quaint shop, you're greeted by the enticing aroma of freshly baked pastries and the warm, inviting ambiance. The display cases are filled with an array of traditional Ligurian treats, but the centerpiece of today's tasting is the exquisite baci di dama. These delicate cookies, named "lady's kisses" for their small, dainty size and sweet embrace of flavors, are a highlight of the patisserie. Made with a blend of finely ground almonds and hazelnuts, each bite of baci di dama offers a delightful crunch that melts into a rich, buttery texture. The two halves of the cookie are gently sandwiched together with a layer of smooth, dark chocolate, creating a perfect harmony of nutty and chocolatey flavors.

Torri di Porta Soprana

also known as the "Porta di Sant'Andrea," is one of the most iconic medieval gates of Genoa, Italy. Situated near the House of Christopher Columbus, this impressive stone gateway is a significant historical landmark, marking the entrance to the ancient heart of the city. Erected in the 12th century as part of the city walls, Porta Soprana once served as a defensive fortification, protecting the inhabitants from invasions and offering control over the access to the city.
