Catedral Primada

The Cathedral of Santa Maria, also called primate cathedral of Spain, is a Catholic temple of Gothic architecture in Toledo. Its construction began in 1226 under the reign of Ferdinand III the Saint and the last Gothic contributions were made in the 15th century when in 1493 the vaults at the foot of the central nave were closed, during the reign of the Catholic Monarchs.

The protected area comprises the old city center, enclosed by the city wall and the meander formed by the Tagus River. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986. The city also has the status of Asset of Cultural Interest, having been declared a historic-artistic monument on March 9, 1940.

Jewish Quarter of Toledo

It is the Jewish community of Toledo which became, in the 12th and 13th centuries, the most populous and rich of the Kingdom of Castile. Coexists for centuries, more or less peacefully, with Muslims and Christians, in which it would be called the city of the three cultures.
