Cayambe

Once we start the tour at 8:00 am (passengers will be called 15 minutes earlier), we'll embark on a panoramic tour of the city of Quito and its surroundings. After approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, and heading to the picturesque Guayabamba Valley, we'll reach the town of Cayambe, nestled at the foot of the majestic peak bearing the same name. If the weather is in our favor, we'll enjoy an incredible view of the snow-capped mountain. Here, we'll take a 15-minute technical break to sample delicious local biscuit. Cayambe is also renowned for its rose plantations, which we'll have the opportunity to admire from our vehicle.

Otavalo Market

Our journey continues to the Otavalo Market, nestled in the heart of the Andes Mountains, Otavalo Market is a vibrant tapestry of Ecuador's indigenous culture. Known as one of South America's most famous markets, it's a captivating blend of colors, traditions, and craftsmanship. Immerse yourself in the vibrant colors and rich culture of Otavalo as you wander through one of the largest indigenous markets in South America. Discover intricate textiles, exquisite handicrafts, and local artwork. Shopping time. We will spend approximately 2 hours exploring the market.

Next, we head to the Quichnche (around 12H30 PM) area to visit our hosts, the Fuerez family. This is the heart of our tour, offering an incredible experience with the Otavaleña family. We'll learn about local products, "from farm to table" Andean cuisine, ancestral cooking techniques, and apply these techniques with local ingredients to prepare a delicious lunch. Embark on a unique journey to the heart of Otavalo, where a warm and welcoming local family will open their doors to share their culture, culinary traditions, and daily life with you. Experience the traditional Chicha de Jora, a fermented corn beverage, and savor the presentation of ancestral Andean cuisine. Immerse yourself in the flavors and essence of Otavalo's rich culture. In this immersive cooking class, you'll discover the rich tapestry of Andean cuisine, rooted in centuries-old traditions and using locally sourced, ancestral ingredients. Our visit will last approximately 3 hours before concluding and return to Quito.
