Valley of the Kings
The spectacular and vibrant tombs of pharaohs from the New Kingdom era, notably Tutankhamun, Ramses II, and Hatshepsut, may be seen in Valley of the Kings. Set against a breathtaking desert setting of rocky cliffs and mountains, the tombs are decorated with exquisite artwork and hieroglyphics that depict the pharaoh's life and afterlife.
Temple of Hatshepsut
The Temple of Hatshepsut is a remarkable old building that was carved out of a sheer cliff face. One of the most powerful female pharaohs in ancient Egypt, Hatshepsut, is portrayed in the temple's soaring columns, elaborate carvings, and vibrant scenes. While taking in the breathtaking views of the surroundings, visitors can explore the different levels of the temple, including the vast colonnaded hall and the sanctuary.
Colossi of Memnon
Two enormous stone statues of the pharaoh Amenhotep III, which have stood at the entrance of his funerary temple for more than 3,000 years, can be seen by visitors visiting the Colossi of Memnon. The statues are cut from a single piece of stone and stand over 18 metres tall. They show the pharaoh seated on his throne and attired in the regal turban and fake beard. While learning about the statues' historical and cultural significance in ancient Egypt, visitors can awe at their astounding size and minute features.
