By observing the "process of creation" rather than just the finished product and experiencing the artisan's dedication, you can gain a deeper understanding of Japan's traditional culture. After the workshop tour, engage in the kiri wood inlay craft experience alongside the artisan. By actively participating, you can better appreciate the intricacies of the technique and the excellence of kiri craftsmanship. Please note that the workshop interior is not usually accessible. Kindly adhere to proper etiquette and enjoy the experience to the fullest. Pre-carved patterns will be provided on the material. You can choose your preferred fabric and experience coloring and wood inlay. The patterns shown in the photos are for illustration purposes and may differ from the actual experience

  • After the experience, we will provide transportation from Hakocho Headquarters and Workshop to Hakocho Orange Street Store (approximately 5 to 10 minutes, drop-off only)
  • Participation requirements:Because of the handling of blades, the minimum age for hands-on experience is 6 years old.
  • Those under 6 years of age may participate in the workshop as long as they only observe. Please contact us if you wish to participate. Parents are responsible for their children's safety.
