Tokoname City Cermaic Hall

At the Tokoname Ceramic Hall, you'll dive into the rich history and craftsmanship of Tokoname City, a place renowned for its exquisite ceramics. Discover the fascinating story behind one of Japan's oldest pottery traditions and gain insights into the artistry that has shaped this cultural treasure.

Tokonyan

The giant Maneki Neko in Tokoname City, Aichi Prefecture, is a popular attraction on the Chita Peninsula. Nicknamed "Tokonyan," this 3.8-meter-tall and 6.3-meter-wide cat playfully peeks out from atop a wall. It’s a must-visit photo spot for travelers!

Dokanzaka

Located near the center of the "Pottery Footpath" area, you’ll find a slope uniquely lined with large "earthenware pipes" and "shochu jars" on both walls. As you ascend the slope, you'll reach the summit, which leads to Komyoji Temple. Midway up the slope is the Dokanzaka Rest Area, where you can shop for Tokoname pottery and other small goods. The rest area also offers various activities, such as the "Maneki Neko Painting Experience," along with tourist information about the Pottery Footpath. Equipped with a well-maintained restroom and powder room, it’s the perfect spot to take a break during your walk!
