Discover the ancient Fuerteventura with this excursion which consist in two easy medium-level hikes in the center of the island within the rural park of Betancuria in the area known as Barranco de las Peñitas and another one to the southwest within the natural monument of Montaña del Cardón. You will also have the opportunity to have swim in Ajuy (at your own risk) and see the caves!

Pickup included
We will drive our vehicle to the center-north of the island to make a short stop at the viewpoint of Guize and Ayoze from which we will have magnificent views of the north of the island and the Betancuria Valley. After this short stop we will go to the first Catellan capital after the conquest in the Canary Islands, Betancuria. After visiting this charming enclave (it is on the list of the most beautiful villages in Spain) we will have 45 minutes of free time to explore its streets, museums and church or just have a drink in the various cafes in the area
Once we have enjoyed this charming and quiet place we will move to the Vega de Rio Palmas where we will make a short stop to contemplate its church and its famous Virgin (Every year the devotees of the Virgen de la Peña start a pilgrimage from their localities to this enclave).
After this short stop we will head towards Buen Paso to face the beautiful canyon of Las Peñitas where our first hike will take place. Ascend to the small chapel and then climb up to the dam from which we will have a magnificent view of one of the most beautiful landscapes of Fuerteventura. After the photos of rigor we will return to our steps to go to the vehicle and continue our march to the impressive caves of Ajuy.
