Beijing Muslim Fayuan Temple

Fayuan Temple is the oldest well-remained temple of Beijing, with a history of around 1,500 years. Now it is the location of the China Buddhist Academy and the China Buddhist Books and Cultural Relic Museum. The temple is also a renowned place to admire the lilacs. If you go there in April and May when the lilacs are blooming, the temple embraced with light purple flowers is more like a fairy hideaway in the prosperous block.

Niujie Mosque

Niujie Mosque is the largest, oldest and best-preserved Islamic building in Beijing, firstly built during the Liao Dynasty (907 - 1125). It has traditional Islamic decorations inside but the exterior follows the architectural style of classical Chinese palaces. The total walking distance is about 920 meters (1,000 yards) and it takes about 15 minutes to cover it.
