I visited the Caves of Charco Azul since I was in high school in 1984, studied Biology and practiced caving since 1996. As a cavers I will provide you with the equipment required for cave exploration and as a biologist, I will raise awareness of the importance of preserving the environment by making your experience a memorable adventure.
If you have your own transportation, this is the adventure you are looking for. We will meet at a set point and, in your own car, you will follow the guide to a private property where we will leave the vehicles. There, you will be given the necessary protective equipment (helmet, lamps and lifeguards) for exploring caves, allowing you to feel like a cavers ready for adventure. Certified biologists or guides will offer you an educational experience, explaining the importance of the area, cave formation, forest fauna and flora, and showing petroglyphs that evidence the ancestral presence of Tainos. You will visit the Arenal Caves, where you can swim in a small canyon formed by the passage of water. If you’re looking for adrenaline, you’ll have the option to jump into the water and enter the underground world of the Blue Puddle Caves, where you can enjoy a waterfall and limestone rock formations inside the cave. At the end of the activity, you can continue with your day visiting the beaches of the area and savoring Puerto Rican cuisine.
You will make your own way to the meeting points
