Oyster Farm and Tasting Experience
This is a multi-sensory experience, come and enjoy the beautiful views while we take you through the process of farming oysters. Learn about the history of the farm (it's one of the oldest in Ireland). And of course try some of our delicious, fresh, briny oysters. All of our guides have hands on experience working on the farm and will be more then happy to answer any questions you through at them.

What's included in Oyster Farm and Tasting Experience
(Subject to Option Inclusions)On the activity, which is a brilliant thing to do to amuse the kids (6+) even on a bad weather day, you will tour our farm, and learn about the farming process from seed to plate, you will get to see the team working on the farm whether it be grading, packing, or turning bags in the bay. Once we have taken you through the whole process, we demonstrate how to shuck an oyster and if you’re feeling adventurous you can shuck your own oyster! The first oyster is an explosion of taste, as your pallet adjusts with the second and third, you will taste the true flavour, which has been described as sweet, having creamy notes with a touch of earthiness. This is a multisensory, authentic experience delivered in a magnificent setting at the foot of the Connemara National Park and 15 minutes’ drive from Kylemore Abbey.

- Travelers will be meeting us on the farm where the tour takes place so in that case the landmark is the farm itself. There is parking available on the farm. The guide will be waiting for them on the farm.
