Reserva Biologica Isla del Cano
The island and surrounding marine area of 52.01 square kilometres (20.08 sq mi) has been established as a biological reserve, with a permanent ranger station on the island.
Parque Nacional Marino Ballena
The park is well known because it is visited by humpback whales during their reproductive journey from the cold seas of the northern hemisphere to Costa Rica (December to April) and vice versa, and from the cold seas of the southern hemisphere to Costa Rica (July to November) and vice versa, also to reproduce.

- Our dive center is located 500m from the main entrance to the Marino Ballena National Park. It is well marked and the entrance is from the main road.
