Our first stop is in downtown Tunis, the capital of Tunisia.A modern city with wide avenues, cafes, ... But also the old medina which remains preserved. We reach the city center by crossing Avenue Habib Bourguiba and passing the impressive Catholic Cathedral of Tunis before entering the souk through the Porte de France before. We meet in the colorful alleys of the medina where you can buy anything and everything souvenirs.
We then take the road to discover the ancient capital Carthage, which was an important trading port conquered by the Romans at the end of the Punic Wars. They destroyed it and rebuilt Carthage, so that there are many Roman remains there today.
Our last stop of the day is Sidi Bou Said the Blue City, located in the Bay of Tunis. Fantastic! Apart from its typical architecture, Sidi Bou Said is also a city of artists that has attracted among others Flaubert, Chateaubriand, La Martine, Colette, Simon de Beauvoir... And more recently, Patrick Bruell: This is indeed where the café of the delights of his song is located. It is of course the most touristic place in the city, but also, it is a magical place that will remain etched in your memory during a forthcoming visit to our beautiful Tunisia.
