Attention: this route takes place every first and third Saturday of each month (with a minimum of 10 people).
The Rota da Liberdade Ethnic Tourism Nucleus, originating from the Quilombola Basin and Iguape Valley Council, is formed by representatives and residents of the Kaonge, Dendê, Kalemba, Engenho da Ponte and Santiago do Iguape quilombos, who reside in the Bahian reconcavo, at 1:30 am, from Salvador. In a participatory way, the nucleus developed the Freedom Route, which features activities that present the history, geography, culture and way of life of communities recognized as remaining quilombolas on the banks of the Bay of Iguape Cachoeira Bahia. All routes are directed by people from the communities themselves, trained in history, regional geography, first aid and trail driving.
