Muxima
The region is known for being home to the Basilica of Our Lady of Muxima, an important pilgrimage site for the Catholic faithful. The basilica is dedicated to the Virgin Mary and receives thousands of visitors every year, especially during the feast of Muxima, celebrated in July. There are also other religious manifestations present in the community, such as the cult of ancestors and traditional African practices.
