The tour will start with an hour-long walk through the city centre of Arles, where you will see several monuments such as the Saint Trophime Cloister, Café Van Gogh, the spectacular Roman Amphitheatre and the Roman Theatre.
The second stop will be in Les Baux de Provence, first in an oil mill where you will take a guided tour followed by a tasting of olive oils with different flavors. A picnic consisting solely of fresh produce from local farms will be served under the fig trees before a walk through the medieval village of Baux de Provence, offering an unforgettable view.
You will also see the sumptuous show of the Careers of Enlightenment. A short film of about thirty minutes and all in color is projected on these old limestone quarries used to build the village.
You will end with a free time in the city of Saint Remy de Provence, the last place of residence in Provence of Van Gogh.
After about 1 hour drive from Avignon: Walk in Arles, built 2600 years ago, passing by the main places of the city: the cloister and the Saint Trophime cathedral, the Place de la République, the Roman forum, the café Van Gogh, the ancient theater, the amphitheater and the summer garden. Then 30 minutes drive to Les Baux de Provence.
Provençal picnic under the fig trees of the estate then visit the oil mill and tasting several olive oils from the Vallée des Baux appellation.
Visit the village entirely built in limestone from the limestone quarries near which the village is built. It has a superb view from the top of the hill. Then 10 minutes on foot to the Carrières de Lumières.
