Originally established in response to the opening of the Yilan line of the Central Cross-Island Highway, former President Chiang Ching-kuo personally inspected the area, traversing mountains and rivers, and founded the "Wuling Veterans Farming Service Station under the Taiwan Veterans Farming Service," which was later renamed the "Wuling Veterans Farm."
