On this tour we will walk through the most emblematic corners of Cádiz and I will tell you the fascinating history hidden in the oldest city in the West, enlivened with curious stories and anecdotes from the city.
Over the course of these 2.5 hours, you will learn how to identify the house of an Indian shipper, discover some of the gems of our heritage hidden in plain sight, and discover why Cadiz was the only city in Spain that Napoleon was not allowed to enter, among many other things!
From our meeting point next to the town hall, in Plaza San Juan de Dios, let me guide you through our 3000 years of history in a dynamic and entertaining way so that you can get to know Cádiz today better and the leading role we played in the past, making a special stop to talk about "La Pepa", the first Spanish Constitution of 1812.
This is the starting point where we Will start with a short explanation about the History of Cádiz and the first civilizations living here.
We Will visit the medieval area and the oldest quarter in Cádiz called "Pópulo" which was built in the XIII Century and where we'll find some important heritage such as the Roman theatre, the oldest Merchant's house and the Old Cathedral
In this stop we Will see the main facade of the New Cathedral in Cádiz and you Will learn about its construction
