The iconic symbol of Osaka in the Kansai region of central Japan played an important role in the unification of Japan during the samurai era of the sixteenth century.
America Mura
Amerika-mura - or Amemura to the locals - is a warren of narrow streets which is at the heart of youth culture in Osaka, with dozens of shops catering to fans of urban apparel and hip-hop wear. But even if you’re not clothes-shopping, there are plenty of foreigner-friendly bars and restaurants in the area.
Shinsaibashi-suji Shopping Street
A covered shopping street which has been Osaka’s most important shopping area for 400 years with hundreds of shops lining this 600-metre long street, walk down here to experience Japan’s love of consumer retail.

Meeting Points
- Please meet at Exit 2 at Osakajokoen Station on the JR Loop Line. Your guide will be outside the ticket gates, in front of the 7-11 convenience store.
End Points
- We will end our tour at Dobutsuen-Mae station which is on both the Midosuiji (metro) & Sakaisuji (metro) lines. JR Shin-imamiya station is just around the corner.
