This excursion combines sightseeing in Tallinn Old Town and a visit to The Seaplane Harbour. The unique story of Estonia and an important Hanseatic city is introduced by friendly and knowledgeable local guide on a 2hour walking tour. Through colorful legends, exciting facts, myths and arcane folklore you will be brought back to the distant Middle Ages. After a walk in old town you will visit The Seaplane Harbour, one of Europe’s grandest maritime museums.
You will meet your guide in front of the Town Hall in Old Town of Tallinn. We will proceed to the historical cobble stone street grid, where you will see world's oldest apothecary shop Raeapteek, orthodox cathedral Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the Great Guild, Neitsitorn tower, Toompea Castle, St. Mary's Cathedral, Danish King's Garden and many other monuments and attractions.
After a nice walk in Tallinn Old Town the guide will bring you to one of Europe’s grandest maritime museums, where you can discover history of The Seaplane Harbour by your self at your own pace. The Seaplane Harbour, including Seaplane Hangar, was built to become part of Peter the Great’s naval fortress 100 years ago on orders from the Russian emperor Nicholas II. The architecture of the Hangar is remarkable, featuring the world’s first columnless thin-shell concrete domes of such volume. The building was used for seaplanes until the Second World War.
