Itinerary

Cueva de la Pileta

The cave of the Pileta is a cave in Benaoján, province of Malaga in Spain. It is a prehistoric site with Parieolithic parietal art and Neolithic remains, discovered in 1905 by José Bullón Lobato, and explored and studied by Willoughby Verner, Henri Breuil and Hugo Obermaier. The cave gathers numerous paintings and engravings in Franco-Cantabrian style with representations of cervids, horses, fish, goats, bulls, a seal, a bison, abstract signs and indeterminate figures. This is an important group that provides interesting data on the expansion of Paleolithic art outside its classical areas of development, the years are between 7,000 and 4,500 (northern Spain and SW of France).

Ronda

Ronda is a city in the Spanish province of Malaga that is situated on a deep gorge. That gorge (the Tagus) separates the new city, dating from approximately the fifteenth century, from the old town, which dates back to the time of Arab rule. On the New Bridge, a stone bridge that extends over the gorge, there is a viewpoint with views. The bullring of the new city, a legendary square of the eighteenth century, is one of the most prominent monuments of the city.
