Miðlína or Leif the Lucky Bridge is a pedestrian suspension bridge located in Reykjavik, Iceland. You can reach this spot on a scenic journey of 50 minutes It spans the Elliðaá River and connects the neighborhoods of Grafarvogur and Reykjavik East. The bridge's name comes from the Norse explorer Leif Erikson, who is said to have used the area as a port during his travels. Geologically, the bridge sits on a fault line between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, which makes it a unique and significant location to visit. the bridge was built in 2002.it is also the longest suspension bridge in Iceland, It is also a popular spot for events and festivals, such as the Reykjavik Arts Festival and Reykjavik Pride. The hot springs are located near the town of Grindavik, According to local legends, the hot springs were named after a witch named Gunna, who was said to have been executed in the area for practicing magic. Legend has it that her spirit still haunts the area, causing the hot springs to boil & bubble. the area is at 2 minutes drive from light house Geologically, the hot springs are fed by a magma chamber that lies beneath the surface of the earth. The heat from the magma causes the water to boil, creating steam and hot springs. The hot springs are surrounded by a variety of colorful minerals and rock formations, including sulfur deposits and mud pools. Visitors can also see steam vents and fumaroles, which are openings in the earth's crust that release steam & gas. you can take a stroll along the wooden boardwalk that winds through the geothermal field. , you'll have the opportunity to see a variety of geothermal features up close, including hot springs, steam vents, and mud pools.
