Visit Solar dos Zagallos is a journey back in time from the corners of this cozy 18th century mansion house, restored by the town hall and transformed into a cultural center geared to local cultures. Main building of the parish of Sobreda, Solar dos Zagallos invites to know its romantic gardens, the three chapels and the various spaces of the house built by the Zagallo family, who came to this region in the reign of D. João II. At the time, Sobreda belonged to the “noble” lands of Caparica. To receive King D. João VI were built two noble halls that distinguish this palace. Open spaces for visitors and stage for pleasant classical music concerts. The stucco, the tiles and the frescoes alone are worth a long visit. Solar dos Zagallos is a dynamic memory space, a hub that aims to preserve local identity through a regular cultural activity, with exhibitions, concerts, recitals and initiatives for the youngest. A day at Solar dos Zagallos is an excellent opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, enjoying the calm of this farm, just minutes from the freeway that leads to Costa da Caparica.
Costa da Caparica’s seemingly never-ending beach attracts sun-worshipping lisboêtas craving all-over tans, surfers keen to ride Atlantic waves, and day-tripping families seeking clean sea and soft sand. It hasn’t escaped development, but head south and the high-rises soon give way to pine forests and mellow beach-shack cafes. The town has the same name as the coastline, and is a cheery place with shops and lots of inflatable seaside tack, done up in 2009 under a now-bankrupt government-sponsored revitalisation project that was responsible for building the town's 24 boxy seaside bar and restaurant structures.
Cross ehe 25 de Abril Bridge (Portuguese: Ponte 25 de Abril, 25th of April Bridge a suspension bridge connecting the city of Lisbon, to the municipality of Almada on the left (south) bank of the Tagus river.
