Visit the middle of the world (Ciudad Mitad del Mundo) during this 3-hour tour to the equatorial line from Quito. The grounds contain the Monument of the Equator, which highlights the exact location of the Equator (from which the country takes its name) where you can stand with one foot in the Northern and Southern hemispheres. Explore the Intiñan Museum to try to balance an egg on a nail or watch water spin opposite ways. Also, the Intinan Museum offers a look at Ecuador’s culture—from the biodiversity of the Galapagos Islands to Amazonian tribes.
Pickup included
Our guide will pick you up at your hotel early in the morning for an interesting visit to the Middle of the World. We head north of the city until we reach the viewpoint of the Pululahua volcano from where we can see one of the few inhabited craters in the world.
Later we will visit the Intiñan museum, a museum that will tell us about the different types of effects caused by gravity, magnetism that happens on the equinoctial line
Then we will go to the Ciudad Mitad del Mundo Complex, here our guide will take you to visit replicas of the ancestral houses of the inhabitants of Ecuador, our guide will also demonstrate through interactive games the physical phenomena that only occur in the half of the world, then we can observe the monument built in honor of the French scientific expedition that located exactly the geographical position of the equatorial line that divides the world and take an original and fun photograph in both hemispheres. After the activities we will return to the hotel.
