After a 60-minute drive from La Spezia, we'll arrive in the countryside just east of Lucca, in the Montecarlo di Lucca wine region. Fattoria Carmignani is a family-run boutique winery, a simple but classic country estate that has been producing quality wines with love for decades. The Carmignani family has been winemakers in this area since 1386. The cooking lesson is hands-on and lasts 3 hours. It will be followed by a lunch (approx. 2 hours) of the dishes you've prepared. A guided tasting of seven of the estate's wines will accompany the meal. A walk through the vineyards with the winemaker completes the experience. Transportation is included and the drive back to port lasts about 60 minutes.

This typical Tuscan appetizer is made from toasted bread topped with sausage and fresh cow's milk cheese.

MAIN - Gnocchi al Pesto

Gnocchi (prounced nee-OH-kee) are little potato pillows that are eaten as a first course. You'll prepare them with basil pesto.

A tortello is a sort of ravioli, particular to Lucca, a half-moon shaped pasta stuffed with meat and topped with a sauce of fresh cherry tomatoes.
