Prague
Pick up from your hotel
Terezin
The massive citadel of Terezín (Theresienstadt), originally constructed in the 18th century by Emperor Joseph II as a military fortress to defend against Prussian advances, later took on a very different role during World War II. During this time, the Nazis used Terezín as a transit camp and a prison operated by the Prague Gestapo. Over 150,000 Jews passed through its gates. Today, the Museum of the Ghetto honors their memory, offering insight into the lives, culture, and resilience of the people who were held there, and preserving the historical significance of the site.
Prague
Return transport from Prague back to your hotel and optional driving from Terezín to Litoměřice (3km north of Terezín). Litoměřice is a good place to have lunch (the square has a choice of good eateries) as eating in Terezín is very limited.
