At the origin of the museum, there is a man, Jean-Pierre Verney, passionate historian, who gathered for nearly 50 years objects and documents to tell the story of the First World War. In 2005, the Pays de Meaux bought this exceptional collection of more than 50 000 pieces and decided to build a museum to enhance its history! Today, the collection has more than 70,000 objects
