You will gain an insight in traditional Norwegian cabin culture. Joining this tour will take you through a very picturesque part of the city mountains surrounding Bergen. There will be lots of good opportunities to take pictures that will make the trip more memorable. The cabin we will visit is more than 100 years old. It's a privately owned cabin, and not open to the public. It's nestled in a beautiful mountain valley with spectacular views. Due to it's location it's a hidden gem only a handful of locals knows about. This tour fits those who are adventure seekers as well as families with children.
Dates are flexible due to weather We will start by Fløibanen lower station, we'll take the funicular up to Mount Fløyen. From there I'll take you on a hike further up the mountain. There are many beautiful spots on the way up. Reaching Rundemanen (568m), I'll take you off the main path, we'll hike for an additional 15 min on a secluded path leading to a small hidden cabin. The cabin is over 100 years old, and there is no running water nor electricity. We have to rely on a big fire place for warmth. In the summer when it’s warm we can sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. Here we'll have hot chocolate/coffee made on a gas stove. While we get warm around the fire I will talk about the history of the cabin and the nearby areas. After spending some time in the cabin, we'll return back to the city. Depending on the weather we have multiple choices for our return path.
