In its peaceful garden, you’ll join a creative and engaging workshop. You’ll learn how to write in ancient Greek letters and combine calligraphy with simple ancient greek elements paintings to create your own personal artwork, which you'll take home.
You’ll also learn to write your name in ancient Greek, while enjoying coffee, mountain tea, and traditional Cretan finger food in a relaxing atmosphere.
This is an easy and enjoyable activity—no experience needed, minimal walking, and ideal for families (with kids 8+), students, adults, and seniors who want to connect with Greek culture in a fun and artistic way.

Nestled inside the garden is Kipos Café, the first historical café in Chania, operating since 1870. We'll step inside for a brief visit and feel the charm of its atmospheric interior. In this beautiful and timeless setting, we’ll hold our Modern Greek Calligraphy Workshop. You will: Learn how to write in Modern Greek script Combine simple floral and abstract painting Create your name in modern greek letters And leave with your own unique art piece to take home No supplies or experience are needed—just bring your curiosity! Throughout the workshop, you’ll enjoy Cretan mountain tea and traditional Cretan sweets, as we create and connect in a setting that perfectly matches the spirit of the art.
