Inspector Javert swears he'll have vengeance and devotes his life to tracking him down. As the student unrest stirs, young revolutionary Marius falls in love with the now teenage Cosette, but Valjean plans to move away from Paris, until an explosive moment in history and the people of the city are brought together to fight for the right to be free.
