In this tour, we will visit the Quilotoa Lagoon which is in the Cotopaxi Province by the town of Pujili. It is a unique tourist attraction in South America and is considered one of the 15 most beautiful volcano crater lagoons in the world. We will also visit Yambo Lagoon, the famous artists village, Tigua, and more... It is a full-day tour, with lunch included, highly recommended.
We leave Baños at 8:30 a.m. travelling about three hours in private transportation.
Another Lagoon that on the way to Quilotoa, maybe not as pretty as Quilotoa, but a nice place to stop and stretch your legs.
The Kichwa people of Tigua, located in the central Sierra region, are famous for their traditional paintings on sheepskin canvases. Historically, the Tigua people were famous for painting highly decorative masks and drums, painting on flat surfaces is somewhat of a modern development. Tigua painting tends to have vibrant colours and simplistic themes. The themes in most paintings are scenes of pastoral life, religious ceremonies, and festivals. The volcano Cotopaxi is commonly painted in the landscape of many paintings, as it holds a lot of cultural significance in the region.
