Smederevo Fortress is one of biggest Europe low-land fortresses. It was built in 1427 and it was last capital of Serbian medival kingdom before Ottoman invasion in mid of 15th century. With numerous towers it represents how defensive fortifications was built just perfectly.
Built by Ottoman Sultan Bayazeed II on hill on the right bank of Danube it was strategically very important fortress and one of first artillery fortresses in Europe.
Well known as Guardian of Danube, Golubac fortress guards entrance of Iron Gates gorge. Never conquered by any army it was just changing it masters by political agreements. You will learn all of the stories behind this magnificent structure.
