The cape marks the western entrance to the Strait of Gibraltar and the meeting point of the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. The lighthouse built in 1864 is a historic landmark building in Tangier.
Caves of Hercules
A major tourist attraction located in the outskirts of Tangier. The cave has two parts: natural and manmade. The legend states that it was the last resting place for Hercules after performing one of the twelve Labors given to him by King Eurystheus. The cave was used by the Berber people as a quarry for making grinding millstones.
Medina of Tangier
The walking tour through the Kasbah is basically designed to provide an insight into the history and the architectural style of the old town. It also consists of experiencing the local culture including the traditional Moroccan food and the typical market or bazaar where artisans and merchants display a variety of handmade items.
