Along the way, we will be looking for Bat Falcons, Gartered Trogons, Black-crowned Tityras and Green-backed Sparrows. We can stop along the forest road for our packed breakfast and coffee, while listening out for Collared Forest-Falcon and Laughing Falcons. We have lunch on site at a designated Picnic spot at the edge of the forest. We often see Coatis and other tropical mammals darting from tree to tree while having lunch.

El Pilar
As we make our way from the meeting point of our office to the El pilar site birdwatching along the way, we arrive at El Pilar site to roam along the ancient trails left behind by the Maya, in search of Tody Motmots, Lesson’s Motmot, Royal Flycatcher and Ruddy-tailed Flycatcher. On the tall trees, we will seek Lineated and Pale-billed Woodpeckers. Several forest raptors perch in the canopy. We can expect Gray Hawk, Black Hawk-Eagle and White Hawk and occasionally get distracted by the Howler Monkeys along the branches. According to the National Institute of Culture and History of Belize, "There are at least 15 courtyards or plazas covering an area of 50 acres. The center has one ballcourt in the south, a major palace in the north, and a causeway leading to Guatemala. The site covers approximately 75 acres. Some buildings reach 50-60 feet in height."

Please arrive at the pick up point 30 minutes before departure time.
Additional Information
There may be an additional fee charged for pick up depending on the location. We will be sure to inform guests prior and see if they are still interested. However, we do advise guests to meet at our office especially those staying close to our office.
